Garver arrest
The mother of an Edgemont Elementary School student was arrested Wednesday on a theft charge. Tammy Garver, 44, Buckingham Drive, Newport was taken into custody by Deputy/School Resource Officer Timothy Snapp. The officer says the school held a cookie dough fundraiser in October of last year, and orders were accepted through November. All of the money was to be turned in by December 19, but the child of Garver did not turn in the $125 owed for the dough that was sold. Numerous attempts were made to get the money through the end of February, and the warrant was obtained when Ms. Garver did not turn in the money by April 11.
