Teens charged with animal cruelty
Two Cocke County teens face charges in connection with a January 30 incident in which a dog was shot with a cross bow arrow. Cocke County Detective Bryan Murr said Gary Haggerman, Hannon Road, Newport, reported he found his beagle dog on the porch of his home, wheezing and with an arrow in his right hip. Murr said the dog required veterinary attention with the medical bill totaling $600. The boys aged 13 and 15, are named on juvenile petitions which charge them with cruelty to animals.
