Early voting is underway
Beginning today, ( July 18) registered voters will have the opportunity to cast their ballots for the August 7 state primary and county general elections at the Cocke County elections office in the courthouse annex. Election officials are encouraging voters to take advantage of early voting, because it allows voters to pick a convenient time to cast their ballots. Because of the length of the August ballot, write in votes for two elected positions in Cocke County and the time to read the ballot during the voting process, lines on Election Day are expected to be long. So voting early makes sense. You can cast your early votes Monday through Friday.....8:30 a.m. till 4 p.m. On August 1, the polling booth will be open till 6 p.m. And on Saturday, August 2, voting will be from 8:30 a.m. till noon.
