Alford looses EMT license
Earlier this week the Tennessee Department of Health announced that the Division of Emergency Medical Services has reprimanded the license of a Cosby EMT-IV, and placed him on one year probation, after he was found guilty of a crime. In December, 2011, Geoffrey Alford, 30, Cosby Highway, Cosby, and his wife were charged with 25 counts of animal cruelty after 25 poorly cared for dogs were found in and around their home. Cocke County Animal Control Officer Scottie Shelton said he had previously visited the property and had talked to Mrs. Alford about the need to better care for her animals. On the day of the arrest, deputies found two dogs in a severely malnourished condition, and another dog was dead in a doghouse. The living dogs had no food or water, and there was dust and leaves in the water buckets. Alford in 2012, pleaded guilty to animal cruelty and was granted judicial diversion by Judge Ben Hooper.
