Jabo's robbed
A white male, believed to be 18 to 20 years-old, Saturday evening robbed Jabo's Pharmacy on East Broadway in Newport. Newport Sgt. Amy Gentry was told the 6:30 p.m. incident involved a man dressed in black who appoached the clerks, Amy Whitlock and Brandon Denton, telling them "I have kids to feed, give me all the money." The six- foot tall man who was slender built, ran out the side door, after the clerks opened the cash register and gave him an undisclosed amount of cash. He reportedly fled east on Highway 25/70 in an older brown Ford Taurus which was parked on North Filbert Street. Witnesses reported the tag on the vehicle had been covered, possibly with a sticker or piece of paper. The robber wore a black hat, black hooded sweatshirt, black sunglasses and black gloves. Because witnesses said they did not see a weapon, the incident is being treated as a strong armed robbery
