Grooms home destroyed by fire
Cocke County firemen were joined by three engines from the Cosby Volunteer Fire Department in battling a home fire on Saturday. Captain Keith Large said the call to the home on Outback Road came in at 11:44 a.m. "It appeared that the fire started in the upstairs and burned down the wall. Because when we arrived the floor joists had burned and the home was falling in,"Captain Large said. The cause of the fire has not been determined. The rental home was owned by Jason Grooms but the identity of the occupants was not available. Large estimated the loss including contents at $180,000.
