Malone sustains facial fracture
Cocke County authorities are looking for a suspect in a Sunday assault incident at Rip Roaring Adventures in Hartford. Michael Malone, Trail Hollow Road, Hartford, told Deputy Sgt. Bob Schaff he was at the whitewater rafting company when Kenneth Parkinson, 30, of Smyrna, assaulted him during a birthday party. Parkinson allegedly struck Malone on the face, knocking the victim to the ground. The officer said the 46 year-old Malone sustained a facial fracture and a bruise to his knee. After treatment at Newport Medical Center, the injured man was sent to the UT Medical Center for facial surgery. Parkinson is wanted on aggravated assault charges.
