Hudgins arrest
A Sevier County man has been charged with robbery in connection with a September, 2013 incident at the Lowes store in Newport. Cocke County Detective Bryan Murr said Curtis Wayne Hudgins, 33, Upper Middle Creek Road, Sevierville was one of two men who grabbed four sets of Dewalt Tool Kit Combo's valued at $1,756 from the shelf and fled without pay for them. Cashier Karen Sanders tried to stop the men as they fled but when she confronted them, they told her they had a gun and if she did not get out of their way they would shoot her . Newport Detective James Holt later identified Hudgins as one of the men involved and filed charges of robbery and theft over $1,000 against him. Bond for Hudgins is set at $50,000.
