Officers who responded to a loud party Saturday night on Sweet Williams Way,Newport, arrested a number of persons. Deputy Jonathan Ochs said a 16 year-old male ran through under brush after being told several times to stop. He had been drinking and also sustained facial scratches as he ran. He was evaluated at Newport Medical Center and then turned over to juvenile officers on charges of fleeing to evade arrest, resisting stop, halt and frisk, underage consumption and violation of the curfew law. Officers said there were a total of eight individuals under the age of 18 at the party, they were cited into juvenile court on a charge of underage consumption and violation of the curfew law. The only individual old enough to drink, Nicholas Blake Wheeler, 22, Sweet Williams Road, said he did not provide the alcohol for the party, but he was charged with eight counts contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
