Cocke County jail inmates charged with vasndalism
Five Coke County jail inmates face vandalism charges following a weekend incident. Corrections Officer Lt. Anthony Horne said the females stacked belongings in their cell to block the monitoring camera, allegedly used a mop handle to smash out a window and then attempted to "fish" contraband from the ground up to their third floor cell. Those now charged are; Newport residents, Betsy Fine, 29, Covered Bridge Way; Penny South, 27, Variety Drive; Jessica Campbell, 28, Irish Cut Road and Nancy Johnson, 70, Johnson Street. Also charged is Crystal Mellon, 28, Wolf Creek Road, Del Rio.
