No charges in weekend stabbing incident No charges have been filed in a Saturday evening stabbing incident in Cocke County because the victim has refused to prosecute. Deputy Max Laughter says he responded Sunday morning, to the Newport Medical Center, where he found Eric Scott Click, 27, Tolley Hollow Road, Newport, with two deep lacerations to his left leg. The victim said he argued with his cousin, Samson Mayes at a residence on Canal Way in Newport. The two fought and while Click was on the floor, he sustained the two deep lacerations. Deputy Laughter said Click refused to cooperate in the prosecution of Mayes "due to them being related."
