Grand jury indicts Hall
A Cocke County Grand Jury meeting Monday heard a number of cases and today is continuing to hear more. Among those indicted are ; Billy Edwin Hall, 39, Battle Way , Newport , charged with the aggravated assault of Jackie Hall, 52, Dubs Way , Newport . The victim was stabbed in the June incident. Jason Lee Kinser, 39, Wolf Creek Road , Del Rio , is charged with three counts violation of community supervision for life, and violation of the sexual offender registration law. The panel threw out charges against Philip Todd Self, 39, Fairfax Road , Newport , who faced two counts of rape. The 29 year-old alleged victim told authorities in April that she stayed at the Self home out of fear that the defendant would assault his wife. The alleged victim also told investigators she had intercourse with Self on two occasions because of fear she would be assaulted if she refused.
