Allen crash
A Newport woman who crashed her car on South Highway 321 , Monday evening now faces charges. Cocke County Deputy Max Laughter said Tracy Allen, 30, Cozy Road, Newport was southbound at 7:30 pm, when her 2003 Dodge left the roadway at Stonebrook Drive and hit a parked car. The officer said the second auto, a 2001 Jaguar, was operated by Timothy Buckner, 47,South Ridge Way, Cosby. It was stopped at the stop sign when it was struck by Ms. Allen. Officer Laughter said both autos were heavily damaged. Although Buckner was not injured, Allen was flown to the UT Medical Center in Knoxville, but released this morning. Deputy Laughter said multiple liquor bottles along with three types of pills in one bottle, were found in the Dodge. As a result, Allen is charged with DUI,failure to exercise due care, driving on a suspended license, open container violation and possession of a legend drug.
