Bailey home damaged by fire
Cocke County firefighters were joined by the Parrottsville Volunteer Fire Department in battling a fire in an older, single story home Tuesday morning. Cocke County Lt. Jordan Self said the home on Good Hope Road is owned by Larry Bailey who was not at the residence when the fire was reported at 10:20 am. Lt. Self said investigators believe the fire started from an electrical short in the kitchen, possibly associated with the refrigerator. Although the flames were confined to the kitchen area, the entire home sustained smoke damage. The loss is placed at $30,000.
