Barnard-Watson arrest
A Morristown woman faces charges and another is being sought in a Saturday afternoon shoplifting event at the Lowes Store in Newpoprt. Newport Patrolman Justin Johnson said Ashley Nicole Barnard-Watson, 31, Barkley landing Drive, entered the store with another woman who has been identified. Loss Prevention Officer Tim Ross said Barnard-Watson was observed in the plumbing department "grabbing the most expensive items," while the second female kept watch. The two suspects then left the store without paying for the items valued at $649. Barnard-Watson was detained however the second woman fled in a 2011 Saturn owned by Barnard-Watson.Warrants have been issued for the woman who escaped. Barnard-Watson gave officers a false identification and also was wanted on a probation violation from Sevier County.She now is charged with theft over $500, criminal impersonation, criminal conspiracy, third offense driving on a revoked license and violation of probation. Officer Johnson said the two women have a history of thefts from various Lowes stores in East Tennessee, and then attempting to return them to the Lowes store in Morristown for a refund.
