Moore charged in domestic altercation
A Cocke County Correction's Officer was arrested Wednesday evening following an altercation with her "soon to be ex-husband." Shawn Moore told Newport Patrolman Josh Holt that his wife, Carrie Moore, 22, Baysinger Road, Newport, showed up at the home of a female friend. Mrs. Moore allegedly punched her husband on the face and tore his shirt off of him, before she left the Bicentennial Apartments. Mr. Moore told police that his wife believes he and the female are in a relationship, but he said they are just friends. The defendant is charged with domestic assault.
