Search on for Bauer
Cocke County authorities are searching for a man who is wanted in Polk County, but who sprinted away from deputies this morning. Deputy Joseph Owings said he responded to Palmer Hollow Road in Bybee at 1:30 am in reference to a stolen vehicle. He spoke to Clark Bauer, 44, and when he checked the subject through the national crime computer, learned that Bauer is wanted in the lower East Tennessee County. As officers attempted to arrest the subject, he fled on foot. Officer Owings attempted to use his taser but because Bauer was wearing a heavy coat, the taser was ineffective. He was chased on foot for an estimated one-half mile before officers lost his trail in a creek bed.
