Cruise Against Cancer Last weekend's Cruise against Cancer in Newport, hosted by the Hard Times Street Rod Club, raised lots of money for the Celebrate Life Cancer Support Group in our area. Nathan Manning coordinated the Eighth annual event says with the Modern Woodmen match as well as the Lowe's Golf Tournament proceeds, the event brought in more than $27,000, making it the best year since the event began. Since 2009, more than $130,000 has been raised to assist those who are struggling with cancer. Manning says donations are still being accepted. Those checks should be made payable to Celebrate Life, and mailed to PO Box 263, Newport, TN. 37822.
