Authorities contacted a woman who went to the adjacent home of her brother, 29 year-old Roger Lynn Kirkpatrick, asking him about the missing iPad. A short time later the female exited the home and gave the iPad to Sheriff Armando Fontes. When Kirkpatrick was searched he was found to be in possession of three suboxone strips and $2,475 in cash. As a result a search warrant was obtained for the home, where officers seized cocaine, Xanax and suboxone. Also seized were a quantity of baggies, digital scales, a money counter and unlocking tools. An additional $1,440 in cash also was seized, and Detective Thornton points out that the subject has no job or legitimate source of income. After being taken to jail, Kirkpatrick told corrections officers e did not have contraband, however the detective says Clonazepam, alprazolam and other pills were found in a bag in the subject's underwear. The suspect now is charged with possession of cocaine and suboxone for resale, possession of suboxone and clonazepam, possession of burglary tools and introduction of schedule two and three substances into a penal facility.
