Gibson reports attempted burglary Cocke County authorities Friday released information on a Tuesday incident in which a Cosby man says he opened fire on a would-be burglar. Deputy Michael Shelton said he was told by Brandon Lee Gibson, the homeowner, that a man wearing black clothes opened the screen door to the Gibson home on Indian Camp Creek Road. Gibson responded to the door with a handgun in his hand. When the intruder saw Gibson he ran into a nearby wooded area. The homeowner said he opened fire on the fleeing man. The intruder is described as tall and skinny, wearing all black clothes. Gibson believes the suspect is believed to be the same person of interest who keeps breaking into his home. Deputy Shelton said he could find no evidence in the woods that the intruder had been struck by gunfire.
