Another Newport Powerball winner
There are more prizes to win playing Powerball than just the multi-million-dollar jackpot. Saturday night's drawing created lots of winning Powerball tickets of various prize levels in Tennessee, including two worth $50,000 each, purchased in Newport and Cookeville. The players won by matching 4 of the 5 white numbers drawn plus the red Powerball number. The winning numbers are; 5-7-9-23-36 and red ball 26. Newport has seen a number of lottery winners in the past year. A lottery player in Newport won the "Tennessee Cash" jackpot of $560,000 from the drawing held December 23, 2015. On June 11, 2015, a lucky player who purchased a Powerball ticket in Newport won $1 million.
