Miksa is new Walters State president
The Tennessee Board of Regents has approved Dr. Anthony (Tony) Miksa as the next president of Walters State Community College. Miksa is currently the vice president at McHenry County College in Illinois. “I am humbled and honored that you have entrusted me to serve as the next president of Walters State. The college, this board, and the state of Tennessee are nationally known for developing innovative initiatives related to student success and degree completion. I'm excited to become part of the continued progress toward those goals,” Miksa said. The new president has led the Academic and Student Affairs division at McHenry since 2009, and has more than 20 years of teaching, student service and leadership experience at several community colleges in Illinois. At McHenry, he has directed and encouraged the growth of new academic programs and delivery methods, increasing student access. Miksa will replace Dr. Wade McCamey, who will retire effective June 30.
