Gould incident
Cocke County authorities are investigating a Thursday incident in which a Cocke County store employee reportedly was struck by a vehicle. Deputy Hollis Emmons said Jordan Oury was in the parking lot of the Bargain Barn on Highway 25E, when her auto was struck. The 28 year-old Oury obtained the information of the driver and then contacted law enforcement. The victim said she stood behind the auto to prevent the driver from leaving. But before an officer arrived, the driver, identified as Norman Gould of Thorn Hill, fled the scene, striking Oury. Although Oury sustained no apparent injuries, Officer Emmons says charges are pending against Gould.
