Houston arrest
A North Carolina woman was taken into custody by Cocke County authorities on Wednesday, after she allegedly stabbed three members of her family as they traveled on I-40 through the county. Deputy Jonathan Ball said 56 year-old Mary Houston, Salisbury, argued with Katrina Troutman, and then lunged at Troutman with a scalpel. Fellow occupants of the car, Demice Wilks and Eva Phillips, tried to intervene to prevent Troutman from being injured. As a result all three of the injured were treated at Newport Medical Center and then released. Houston is charged with aggravated domestic assault.
