Cocke County Grand Jury action
A Cocke County Grand Jury considered 60 cases on Monday and is continuing to meet today. Among the major cases indicted are ; James Brad McGaha, 31, Morris Street, Newport, is charged with the unlawful possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony, two counts possession of methamphetamine, as well as possession of clonazepam and buprenorphine with the intent to sell and deliver, and possession of marijuana. Randall Joe Brown,40, Upper Broad Street, Newport is charged with possession of methamphetamine with the intent to sell and deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving offenses. Bradley Grooms, 26, Morrell Springs Road, Newport, is charged with operating a chop shop in December, 2015. Brandon Adam Wine, 29, Keystone Way, Newport, is charged with rape of a child and aggravated sexual battery, involving a child under the age of 13 between September and October, 2015. Jacqueline Cheyenne Dickerson, 19, Goldenrod Way, Newport, is charged with the rape of a 13 year-old male in October, 2015. Detective Bryan Murr responded to the Newport Medical Center after the boy was taken there by his mother. Detective Murr said he was told the defendant allegedly performed oral sex on the teen, and the activity was observed by a witness. William Dockery, 27, Cottage Way, Parrottsville and his wife Vanessa, are charged with theft over $10,000 and theft over $1,000, in the theft of property owned by Nathan Carter and Scott Murphy. Kenneth Richard Schultz,46, Old Solomon Ferry Road, Newport,is charged with six counts violation of the Sex Offender Registry Act. Brandon Michael Gallinat, 34, Estie Way, Newport, faces a perjury charge and two counts violation of the Sex Offender Registry reporting.
