Wolf Creek fire
Cocke County authorities are investigating the cause of an early Monday morning fire which destroyed a mobile home on Wolf Creek Road in Del Rio. Deputy Sgt. Bob Schaff said Lyndon Gordon Turner told him he left the residence with his children to get something to eat and when he returned, his home was totally engulfed in flames. Assistant Chief of the Cocke County Fire Department, Keith Large, said when firefighters arrived on the scene, "there was nothing left, the home was on the ground. It had been burning for quite some time." Joining in the firefighting effort were the Del Rio and Country Volunteer Fire Departments. Large said the loss including contents of the home, total $120,000.
