Bear Creek Road fire
Cocke County authorities are investigating a Thursday evening fire which damaged the kitchen of a mobile home on Bear Creek Road in Bybee. Deputy Max Laughter says the Cocke County Fire Department and Centerview Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire at 9:20 p.m. to find the flames had started around the sink area and had burned the interior wall and cabinets, but was extinguished before it could spread further. Authorities have not been able to determine the ownership of the home, however mail found at the home did give Deputy Laughter a lead on the former occupants. Officer Laughter also says the power to the home had earlier been turned off.
