Newport boy is missing
Newport authorities are looking for a five year-old boy who's mother says she allowed the boy to go with his father on June 1, but who now cannot be located. Kisha Cross, River Street, Newport, told Newport Patrol Officer Mike Robey that she allowed Scott Gene Bryant, Jr. to go with Scott Gene Bryant, of Texas on a trip to Florida. The elder Bryant was to return the boy on his return trip to Texas. But now Ms. Cross and several of Bryant's relatives say they haven't heard from him. Mr. Bryant was last seen driving a white Chevrolet four-door diesel truck, possibly bearing a Colorado license plate. The truck was pulling a camper trailer. The officer says the boy is described as three feet tall weighing 28 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes.
