Weekend assault incidents Cocke County authorities investigated several weekend assaults. Warrants have been issued in connection with a Saturday night incident at the Randall Moss residence on Heather Way, Newport. Moss, 50, told Deputy Max Laughter that three females came to his home armed with sticks at about 9:40 p.m.. They allegedly intended to attack Randall Moss, Jr., 31 and his girlfriend Kristin Anglin. One of the females, identified as Chelsea Meigs, 28, Chattanooga, allegedly struck the two men with her vehicle, and then backed up and hit the two men a second time.Deputy Laughter said the incident left the elder Moss with a leg injury. Warrants have been issued charging Meigs with two counts of aggravated assault. Shelby Faye Howery, Corral Road, Newport, told Deputy Sgt. Heath Willis, she told a visiting female to leave her home. In turn the visitor allegedly kicked Howery in the stomach and scratched her neck. The victim says she struck her attacker on the the face twice in self defense. A warrant has been issued for the female. Kelly Leigh Tidwell, 41, Ponder Road, Newport, was arrested Sunday by Deputy Max laughter on aggravated domestic assault charges. The defendant allegedly attacked Daniel Hopkinson, Jr., with a two foot level, leading to the charge. Jessica Hope Daniels, Shelton Road, Newport, told Deputy Lt. Steve Johnson she was at a home on Sulpher Springs Road, Newport, when she was met by Edward Potter, 25, and Amanda Henderson, 29, residents of the home. The victim says she was pushed out the door and then Henderson punched her on the mouth with her fist, and Potter put her in a choke hold. Lt. Johnson jailed both subjects on aggravated assault charges. Matthew Burr, 38, cascade Road, Parrottsville, allegedly kicked in the door to the home he shared with Mandy Sostarecz, early Saturday morning. Deputy Logan Starritt was told that Burr threatened to burn down the home and shoot officers, if police were contacted. Sostarecz said Burr grabbed her by the throat and shoved her against the wall after he kicked in the door and he now is charged with domestic assault.
