Trio charged after Newport traffic stop
A traffic stop on Smith Street in Newport on Monday sent three individuals to jail. Deputy Jonathan Ball said he stopped Julia Barnes, 31, Highway 25E after observing her driving erratically. A passenger, Jacob Lively,32, Madison, TN. appeared to be under the influence and so he was removed from the auto. A loaded firearm was spotted near Lively who is a convicted felon. In addition, the subject had 12 Suboxone strips and four Oxymorphone pills on his person. A female passenger, Tishena Workman, 31, Muddy Creek Road, Dandridge, was wanted for failure to comply with child support. At the jail she admitted that she had drugs on her person, and a baggie of a crytal substance, Suboxone, Oxymorphone and Clonazepam were seized. Workman is charged with two counts each possession of schedule II and IV with intent to resale, and possession of schedule III with the intent to resale. Lively is charged with possession of schedule II and III with intent to resale, as well as being a felon in possession of a firearm. Barnes is charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of drug paraphernalia.
