I-40 traffic to be slow at TN/NC state line
Motorists traveling to and from North Carolina should be aware of lane closures on I-40 beginning today, just a few miles east of the TN/NC state line. One lane will be closed in each direction on I-40 near milemarker 7 in North Carolina in order for crews to finish a safety project in that area. They are removing rock along both sides of the interstate to reduce the risk of future rock slides. Work is expected to be complete by Friday, August 19th. Significant delays are expected during peak travel times, including morning rush hour.
