Shiflett arrest
One of two men arrested last week in connection with multi-jurisdictional burglaries, Saturday was charged with another offense. Brian Shiflet, 40, Emerson Street, Morristown is charged with theft over $1,000 according to Cocke County Deputy Jonathan Ball. The suspect allegedly took a 1983 Subaru owned by Betty Holt,Upper Broad Street, Newport. Last week Cocke County Sheriff Armando Fontes reported that Shiflet had been arrested by Greeneville authorities in connection with recent burglaries in the Bybee community as well as in other counties. A co-defendant, Charles Lawson, Jr., no age or address given, was picked up in Knoxville.
