Aaron's employees are threatened
Charges are pending in a weekend incident which involved employees of Aaron's Furniture Rental Service in Newport. Manager Seth Childs told Newport Patrol Officer Justin Johnson that two of his employees went to the home of Desmond Gorrell, Homewood Way, Newport, to repossess a motion sofa and motion love seat valued at $1,815. The employees say when they arrived at the home and identified themselves, "they were approached by a white male subject who was brandishing a shotgun, and who threatened them, at which point they left the property," Officer Johnson said. The Cocke County Sheriff's Department has been notified of the incident. Childs said $1,624 is still owed on the furniture.
