Soloman is being sought in a weekend theft and assault
A Cocke County man who was barred from having contact with an ex-girlfriend because of an assault last week, returned to the home over the weekend and now is being sought in another incident. Cocke County Deputy Max Laughter said Ricky Earl Soloman, 42, went to a residence on Grassy Fork Road where he allegedly entered the home and assaulted the victim. Officer Laughter said Solomman had been ordered restrained from being around the woman, after last week's incident. After the female was assaulted, Soloman chased her onto the lawn where she was tackled, and dragged back into the home by the hair. Inside she was again assaulted, choked and Soloman punched her on the face. After again fleeing her assailant, the woman ran outside where she was assaulted. A male neighbor heard the commotion and ran outside to rescue the victim. She then contacted authorities from the neighbor's residence. Deputy Laughter interviewed the victim at Newport Medical Center where she was taken for treatment of injuries to her head, face, neck, feet and legs. Soloman reportedly also used a butcher knife to vandalize the interior of the victim's home. The subject had driven to the residence in a 1987 Chevrolet pickup which had been reported stolen from Boyce Gentry, Dykes Street, Newport. The vehicle was found abandoned near the scene of the assault. At last report Soloman was being sought on charges of aggravated domestic assault, assault, violation of a court order, resisting arrest, possession of stolen property, theft over $1,000 and aggravated sexual battery.
