Dottavio arrest on drug offenses
A Vermont man is facing major drug charges following his Sunday arrest by Dandridge authorities. Detective Lt. Kenneth Lodwick said Vincent Dottavio, 29, ran out of gas on the interstate and was transported to the Pilot Travel Center at Exit 417, by another motorist. But the unidentified motorist also reported that Dottavio appeared to be under the influence. When Dandridge Corp.Shane Hanshew arrived at the 2004 Dodge Ram pickup, the owner declined to give consent to search the vehicle. Sevier County K9 Officer Tim Herzog responded to the scene and his dog alerted on the pickup. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed 24 grams of marijuana, 73 methadone pills, five grams of cocaine and 126 packages of heroin, as well as a quantity of needles. Dottavio was jailed on charges of possession of marijuana, methadone, cocaine and heroin with the intent to distribute, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia. The truck and $123 in cash were seized. Bond for Dottavio is set at $130,000.
