Davis injured in Thursday morning crash
A Cocke County man was seriously injured Thursday morning in a single vehicle crash on McGaha Chapel Road. Trooper Tyler Hall said Dustin Davis, 28, Cosby was operating a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe when the auto went out of control at 1:33 am. The westbound SUV traveled over the center line in a curve and struck a tree on the left side of the roadway, near the Under The Mountain Road intersection. Davis was trapped in the auto and was freed by personnel with the Newport Rescue Squad, the Cocke County Fire Department and Cosby Volunteer Fire Department. Trooper Hall said Davis was flown by medical helicopter to the UT Medical Center, and today he is listed in serious condition. Charges are pending.
