Raines/Davis arrests Newport police Monday jailed two men who were spotted walking past the Newport Grammar School, one armed with a bow and arrow, and the other wearing gang related clothes. Newport Patrol Officer Brandon Cassidy said the men scared the students when they walked by the school's front offices. Dominique Raines, 22, Hartford Road, Cosby and William Davis, 32,Myers Circle, Newport were confronted by School Resource Officer Sgt. Justin Vinson. Davis was armed with the bow and arrow and Raines wore clothes associated with the "crips" gang, the officer said. The men said they were walking to a home on Eighth Street which police say is a suspected drug house. Now both men face charges of aggravated criminal trespassing. In addition, Davis is charged with carrying a weapon on school property, theft and disorderly conduct. Raines faces an additional charge of public intoxication.
