Frazier sentencing A Cocke County woman arrested by Dandridge police in February, has been ordered to serve a 42 month federal term by US District Judge J. Ronnie Greer. Margie Barnes Frazier, 52, New Cave Church Road, Newport, had a strong odor of alcohol, and was in possession of oxymorphone, oxycodone, alprazolam, lorazepam and clonazepam pills. In addition, Frazier had $3,561 in cash on her person. In the plea agreement she reached with federal prosecutors, Frazier admitted she had been selling oxymorphone since 2014, charging from $25 to $100 per tablet. Frazier admitted she had sold approximately 800 of the pills following her release from federal prison in November, 2013. She told federal investigators that she sold about one-half of the pills she received from her monthly prescription. In court documents filed by Asst. US Prosecutor J. Gregory Bowman, Frazier pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute oxymorphone, and except for the plea agreement, could have received up to 20 years in prison. Frazier received a 30 month prison term for the recent offense and an additional 12 months for violation of her supervised release from a 2010 federal conviction for a conspiracy to distribute more than 500 grams of cocaine.
