Warmer winter is predicted It's warm today, but colder weather is on the way. While the Framers Almanac is predicting a colder winter, the Old Farmer's Almanac is predicting warmer weather. So what does the National Weather Service predict ? David Hotz, a meteorologist says his agency is predicting warmer than normal temperatures this winter. In addition, he expects precipitation to increase. "Over all it will be a mild winter, but we will have some cold spells," the weather man says. Our area usually does not have a white Christmas and Hotz says because of the anticipated lower temperatures, we also likely won't see snow on Christmaas this year.
