Thanksgiving Day ATV mishap
Cocke County authorities are investigating a Thanksgiving Day incident which involved an ATV, and which resulted for hospitalization for an Indiana woman. Eric Kurth told Cocke County Deputy Michael Shelton that he and his 47 year-old wife, Karla, were visiting family on Glendale Road when the incident occurred. Kurth said he found his wife in a wooded area, near the overturned four-wheeler at about 5:30 pm. The woman was loosing consciousness so he loaded her into his auto and drove to a location in Hamblen County where he met an ambulance. Mrs. Kurth, with a head injury, cracked ribs and abrasions to her arms and legs, was taken by ambulance to the UT Medical Center in Knoxville. The couple reportedly returned to their home in Valparaiso, Indiana over the weekend.
