Parrottsville Christmas parade The annual Parrottsville Christmas Parade will be held this Saturday, December 3, at 3 p.m. on the streets of downtown Parrottsville. This year's parade, organized by the Parrottsville Ruritan Club, will mark the first time the Cocke County High School Red Regiment Marching Band will participate in the parade. Staging for the parade will begin at 1 p.m. at Parrottsville Elementary School and participants are asked to be at the staging area by 2 p.m. to begin the lineup. This year's theme is "Have A Holly Jolly Christmas" and all area businesses, school and church groups, bands, organizations, and individuals are encouraged to attend. The Ruritan club does not charge any fees to participate in the parade. Parade applications can be found online at www.parrottsvillechristmas.com and www.facebook.com/parrottsvillechristmas; in Parrottsville at Pizza Plus, Parrottsville Coin Laundry, Parrottsville Town Hall, and Hux Market; and in Newport at Goddard Real Estate. Parrottsville's annual Christmas activities begins on Friday with a tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m., followed by an old fashioned Christmas dinner at the Parrottsville United Methodist Church. Tickets are $10 for the dinner and can be purchased at the event. Following the Christmas Parade on Saturday, the city will hold its annual Christmas In The Park celebration including games for kids, Frosty The Snowman, hot chocolate, and of course Santa Claus!
