Rudd faces counterfeiting charges
A Jonesborough man is in custody in Cocke County following his arrest Thursday on shoplifting charges. But that was only the beginning. Rodney Rudd, 32, was charged with theft at Walmart, and then was found to be in possession of a forged government identification, as well as $315 in counterfeit money. As the investigation continued, officers retrieved seven additional forged or altered government issued identification in Rudd's wallet. Now the subject faces charges of criminal simulation(counterfeiting), eight counts of forgery, theft, vandalism, fifth offense driving on a revoked license, habitual motor vehicle offender and criminal trespass because he had previously been banned from Walmart. In addition, Rudd was wanted by Washington County authorities for violation of probation and contempt of court.
