Downtown Newport Artscapes announces artist reception Downtown Newport Artscapes has announced an Artist Reception on March 9th., 5-8PM at Newport Printing & Office Supplies on Broadway downtown Refreshments will be served and all artwork will be for sale. Downtown Newport Artscapes member, Suzi Phillips, is a regional photographer inspired by the "Diamonds in the Rust" she finds in the Appalachian mountains she calls home. Suzi's 2Lane Life Photography is both a journal and a love letter to bygone mountain days and ways. Her work has been selected as a finalist in the prestigious Appalachian Mountain Photography Competition and was displayed at Appalachian State Unversity. Phillips' photos have also been published in a number of publications, and in the documentary "Looking at Appalachia: 50 Years After the War on Poverty."
