Monday I-40 crash in Cocke County
A Monday single vehicle crash on I-40 in Cocke County imjured two individuals. Lt. Richard Garrison said the crash occurred in the eastbound lanes near the 447 mile marker. The 2008 Toyota was operated by Qutell Adderley, 20, Charlotte, North Carolina, who was not wearing a seatbelt. The auto ran off the roadside on the right, spun around and hit the guardrail, causing it to overturn numerous times down an embankment. Adderley and his passenger, 19 year-old Mariah Jaye Castle, also of Charlotte, were taken by First Call EMS to the Newport Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The driver was charged with no driver’s license, no insurance, expired registration and a seat belt violation.
