Douglas appointment
Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam recently announced the appointment of a number of members to state boards and commissions. Bryan Douglas, who is Supervisor for Alternative Programs with the Cocke County School System has been appointed to a second four -year term on the Advisory Council for Alternative Education at the state level. Douglas talked to the NewsSource about the mission of the Council; " We meet quarterly and talk about issues facing students in alternative programs across the state, how better to serve our students better. The adult high school is an alternative program, and we look at issues like discipline, ways of helping students be more successful and then make recommendations to the Department of Education regarding ways to serve students better."
