Monument vandalism
Newport authorities are looking for a suspect in A Thursday incident at Newport Monuments on Cosby Road. Office Manager Lisa Coggins told Patrol Officer David Clevenger that she saw a black Dodge Durango strike a $3,000 display monument at the front of the business. When Coggins went into the business to contact police, two men pushed the Durango off of the monument, and the driver fled the scene. Charges of vandalism over $1,000 and leaving the scene of an accident with damage over $1,000 have been filed.
