Tax changes come on Saturday
On Saturday, July 1, it will cost $5.00 more to register your car or pickup in Tennessee. Other vehicles will see a higher increase. Also the gasoline tax will increase by four cents, and an additional one cent will be added to the tax in 2018 and 2019. Diesel will see a four cent increase and an additional three cents in both 2018 and 2019. The sales tax on food will drop by one-percent or $1.00 per $100 spent on food.
