Levin injured in I-40 crash
An Evergreen, Colorado man sustained only a minor laceration, Tuesday when his car was hit on I-40 in Cocke County by two tractor trailer rigs. The 1:19pm incident began when Anthony Thomas, 53 of Florida attempted a lane change as he traveled westbound near the 434 milemarker.The Harris rig hit a 2017 Toyota operated by 22 year-old Austin Levin of Colorado. The Toyota spun off the roadway, rolled and came back on it's wheels. on the right shoulder. A second 18 wheeler which swerved to miss the traffic that had slowed quickly due to the crash, jack knifed and slid into the Toyota which was on the shoulder. The truckers were not injured however, Thomas who hit the Toyota initially, is charged with failure to maintain due care, according to Lt. Richard Harrison of the Tenne4ssee Highway Patrol. First Call EMS took Levin to the Newport Medical Center for evaluation, and traffic in the area was slowed up for several hours.
