Newport camper fire
Newport and state arson officers are conducting an investigation into a camper fire Thursday afternoon. Newport Fire Lt. Shannon Ball said firefighters responded to the Susan Davis property on Woods Street where they found the camper engulfed in fire. He said firefighters were on the scene within minutes of the call. Davis said there was no power to the full-sized RV which was parked near her home, where three people resided. Newport Arson Investigator Jeremy Shelton and state investigators are looking into the cause of the blaze.
