Colvin injury
Newport authorities are investigating a Thursday incident in which a Newport woman says she jumped from a car traveling at 20 mph, after her boyfriend spat at her. Brittany Colvin, Fairfield Drive, Newport, told Patrol Officer Joshua Bigus that she argued with Scott Foster as he drove, but jumped out after the spitting incident. Foster came back to the scene and picked up Colvin however, she asked him to let her out at the Travel Center on West Highway 25/70 after he continued to argue. Officer Bigus said he found Colvin crying and limping as she walked on Smoky Mountain Lane. First Call EMS evaluated the injured woman and then transported her to the Newport Medical Center for treatment.
